I almost drowned.
Once.
Long ago.
But it happened.
Since then I’ve met all kinds of people with varying degrees of aquaphobia.
I’m not afraid, I say, even though I am; I respect water and acknowledge their might.
I play it safe.
Almost always.
Except when you’re anywhere near.
Your Sirenity is contagious to such a degree,
at times I forget to respect the sea.
I want to swim.
I want to understand.
Why even though you’re afraid of the dark,
also yearn for the depth.
